About Me

I am a mom to an adorable toddler boy and newborn baby girl, the wife of a math teacher and volleyball and basketball coach, and a high school Spanish teacher. My husband and I's lives revolve around our children and sports. We are die-hard college football fans (GO BEAVS!) and I am excited my maternity leave will take place in the fall and football season. :) On any given day, I probably have a Cheerio stuck to my sweater, something going on after school, and dirty dishes in the sink. That is just life for us right now. I wouldn't have it any other way!

I LOVE teaching Spanish because I don't have to be tied to a textbook or teach to a state test. Students in my classes are exposed to Latin music and engaging activities on a daily basis. I like to think of my classes as a "break" from those that require a lot of seat time and lecture. Students walk into my class knowing that they are going to get to listen to music, move around a lot, play a game, and learn something. We have 82-minute class periods so lesson plans are carefully constructed so they involve the kids moving around at least 4-5 times.
